IGTAP controls
Quick answer
IGTAP keeps its controls deliberately small: WASD or arrows to move, Space to jump, and everything else — dash, wall jump, mid-air jump — arrives later as unlocks using the same few keys. Here's what's bound to what, plus the settings worth touching.
Default keyboard binds
| Action | Key |
|---|---|
| Move | WASD or arrow keys |
| Jump | Space (hold for height — releasing early shortens the jump) |
| Dash | Unlocks as a purchase; shown in-game once owned |
| Wall jump / mid-air jump | Unlocks; same key family as jump |
There's no mouse input during play — the game is fully keyboard/gamepad driven. Jump height is analog to button hold time, which is the single most important mechanic to internalize: the same jump button covers delicate ledge hops and full-height leaps.
Controller
IGTAP ships with full controller support and most of the community plays on a pad — analog sticks make the small horizontal adjustments in spike sections much easier. If you're deciding between input methods, the platforming is designed so both work; the difference only shows up in record-chasing precision.
Settings worth changing
- Checkpoints — toggled per-course; leave them on while learning and off only when you're practicing a full clean route.
- Hard mode / B-sides — the hard versions of each course are picked at the course entrance once unlocked; there's no global switch that changes normal play.
- Raffle/community codes — community giveaways run through the official Discord, not an in-game menu.
The one rebind that matters
If you plan to speedrun, dash and jump live next to each other for a reason: the dash jump (dash, then jump mid-dash) and the mid-air dash (a second dash press while airborne) are the two inputs that unlock every hard route in the game. Keep both keys reachable with one thumb or adjacent fingers.
Keyboard vs controller
Keyboard is how the game's tightest inputs were built in testing; controller is how most of the leaderboard plays. There's no wrong answer — but pick one and stay with it for a full session. Tech timing muscle memory doesn't transfer cleanly between the two.
